Real Name: Anna Marie
Code Name: Rogue
Faction: X-Men
Age: 26
Date of Birth: August 21
Height: 5 feet 8 inches
Weight: 125 pounds
Physical Description: Rogue is lean and muscular. She has long brown hair with white stripes down the bangs that she inherited after absorbing Magneto's power. She wears clothing that is comfortable to her like jeans and t-shirts but is known to go shopping for nicer clothing most times. Most of the time she is also known to wear gloves so she can avoid touching a person and absorbing what they know or their abilities.
Personality: Rogue leads a very lonely life, yearning for affection and human contact. Her inability to control her powers means that her skin can never touch that of another person. This would make any relationships very difficult. She hides this loneliness behind a brash and cocky southern manner.
Powers: Rogue possesses the superhuman ability to absorb the memories, knowledge, talents, personality, and physical abilities (whether superhuman or not) of another human being through physical contact of her skin with the skin of the other person. (Sometimes she also duplicates in herself outward physical characteristics of her victim.) The victim's abilities and memories are absorbed for a time sixty times longer than the amount of time Rogue was in physical contact with that person. The victim loses his or her abilities and memories for exactly the length of time that Rogue possesses them. Due to unknown factors Rogue has permanently absorbed certain superhuman powers from Ms. Marvel I.
When Rogue possessed a duplicate of Carol Danvers' psyche, her "double" consciousness gave her high resistance to telepathic probes.
Weaknesses: Rogue cannot touch another human being without temporarily absorbing that person's memories, abilities, and superhuman powers (if any) and rendering him or her unconscious. Remnants of the personalities of victims whose memories she has absorbed remain buried in her subconscious indefinitely. Certain powerful beings have proven resistant to Rogue's power.
Skills: Rogue has limited skill at fighting. Despite her years of experience she still relies solely on her strength and invulnerability in combat. She is also a skilled Pilot.
Equipment/Weaponry: None. She normally does not carry weapons. However, she will use a weapon if she has absorbed the skill to use it.
Known Relatives: Carrie (aunt); Owen (father, presumed deceased); Priscilla (mother, presumed deceased); Mystique (unofficial foster mother); Destiny (second unofficial foster mother, deceased); Nightcrawler (foster brother); Graydon Creed (foster brother)
History: Rogue is a mutant with the superhuman ability to absorb the memories and abilities of others, including superhuman abilities, via skin-to-skin contact. This transference usually causes the victim to fall unconscious and become weakened. The duration of this drain varies according to the length of time that the contact is maintained.
Rogue does not know her true parents; she was adopted by a couple who lived on the Mississippi River. Rogue's childhood friend, Cody Robbins, kissed her in a moment of passion and excitment and, at that moment, Rogue's powers first emerged, and Cody fell into a coma from which he never awoke. Rogue had absorbed all his memories and even believed she was Cody for a while. In a fit of anger and sadness, Rogue ran away from home.
She hitched rides to Canada, where she was planning her trip to all along. That was when she met a man who fought in the ring...Logan. It was a rough transition for the two of them. Rogue didn't know who to trust, Logan didn't want to have anyone rely on him for anything. But, sometimes things don't work out the way we plan them. On the way down the road, just as Rogue was lecturing Logan about the safety of wearing a seat belt, they were attacked.
Logan was thrown from the truck and just as the truck was getting ready to explode, Rogue was pulled from it by Storm and Cyclops. Logan and Rogue were then taken to the Xavier's School for Gifted Children where Rogue was immediately enrolled and started taking classes with students like herself...gifted...afraid of others outside the school...not knowing where to turn. She had found a family there.
But once again, things escalated downward. One night, Logan was having a bad dream and Rogue went in to wake him up. That was when she was stabbed through the chest and absorbed his ability to heal. After a brief confrontation with who she thought was a boy she had started to like, Rogue left the school thinking it was the safe thing to do for everyone. Later that night, she was found by Logan in the subway but was taken before she could return to the mansion.
Rogue was part of Magneto's plans to change the humans that were meeting on Ellis Island into mutants. Upon transferring his powers into Rogue, he was quickly attacked by Logan and Rogue was freed. But it was too late. She was gone. Or so Logan thought. Upon touching Rogue, he transferred his healing abilities into her. Returning back to the school, Rogue later formed a relationship with one of the boys, Bobby at the school.
She survived an attack on the school but not without it's casualties. The students and staff lost one of their own: Dr. Jean Grey but that wasn't the end of events to come. Later on, she learned that there was a cure to help mutants and thinking it was the only way to be with Bobby and to help others around her not having to feel so stand-offish, she decided to take it.
But...it was temporary. And things did not get better. Bobby was growing more and more distant...and Rogue's powers came back, full swing. Now that she is an adult, she is now a full-time X-Men team member along with a teacher at the institute.
Sample RP: Stepping down the sidewalk dressed in an outfit that made several men stop and stare, Rogue smiled as she pushed her hair out of her eyes. She intended to spend the night dancing. It had been a rough few days...first, going to that dreadful place where they had to fight several clones. Then the mishap at the apartments with Gambit.
Gambit. Stopping and looking into the distance, Rogue's eyes set on the horizon. She hadn't seen him since that night. Shaking herself, she narrowed her eyes resolutely. And she didn't care to see him again. At least that's what she told herself. She knew that she felt bad for being jealous...hell, she didn't even know why she was jealous. She really didn't know the man.
Making her way to a club, it took her several seconds to realize that it was the club that she had her first dance with the Cajun. Also the place where they had gotten into a fight with a couple men. Ah..there they were. The man she had knocked flat with a simple kiss and his cronies.
Smirking devilishly, she took off her thigh length leather duster and made her way into the club. Underneath she was wearing a dress that accentuated her figure rather nicely, baring just the tops of her arms. The rest of the length of her arms were covered in long black lace gloves. She had a simple satin scarf tied around her neck.
Fluffing out her hair, she made an order for a glass of Jack Daniels. She didn't know where she had acquired the taste for Jack but it seemed to help her unwind. Taking the glass and bottle to an empty table, she sat down and crossed one leg over the other.
Pouring out some of the liquid from the bottle into the glass, she looked up to see a pair of feet approach her table. There he was...the guy from a couple nights before. Smiling, she set the glass down "Hey there sug...Listen...Ah'm sorry about that a couple nights back."
Smiling, the man raised an eyebrow and took in her long lean figure "It's quite all right...hm...I was thinking that I just had the flu or something that night. Anyway...care to dance?"
Biting her lip teasingly, Rogue recalled several memories she had picked up from the man. He was a womanizer...he also had violent tendencies toward them when he didn't get his own way...he beat women in other words. As her eyes darkened somewhat, she smiled again then nodded "Sure...Ah'd be delighted..."
The last couple nights she had gone out into the city for air more than usual. She just felt more and more cooped up in the apartment building and it was making her edgy. Ever since the last mission they were on, she had been this way. She never mentioned it to Mystique or even to Neena...she just kept it bottled inside.
Those last couple nights she had touched a few people. She didn't know why...she just did. Usually she abhorred the idea of sucking in their energy or memories but...as she left the dance floor with the man she was dancing with this night unconscious...she was beginning to realize something. It had become something of a drug to her.
Snickering at the people surrounding the men on the floor, she looked around then at his friends "Someone better call 911...Ah do believe your friend had a fainting spell..."
Hiding the look on her face, Rogue sat back down and grabbed the glass once again and drank from it, watching what was unfolding.
