- This site is Rated PG-13 - R. Bear that in mind and keep it tasteful, please.
- This site is not only for Canon Characters. Feel free to bring in Original Characters as well. But please remember that they cannot be all-powerful
Registration and Application
- When registering, register with your character's codename. If they don't have a codename, register with both their first and last name, eg. Jean Grey, Fabian Cortez.
- Players are currently allowed four canon characters. Additional characters may be requested and played only with admin permission. We expect that you dedicate an equal amount of time to all your characters, however, and to have contributed a reasonable amount to the game. As for original characters, you may play as many of your own creations as you want or can handle. Just please remember not to make your OCs all powerful...they have to have SOME WEAKNESSES!!!
- Do not plagiarize at any point in your application. Using references is fine, but we don't want to see how well you can copy and paste from Wiki. Your application is our first impression of you- use the opportunity to shine!
- If you want to reference other canon characters in your application, please make certain that you have their permission beforehand, or have at least viewed their profiles as well. This is an alternate universe site, and as such canons can be played differently. As a rule of thumb, try to avoid mentioning other canons altogether, especially if it's not particularly necessary to your character.
Adopting a Character
- If you are interested in adopting a character from our Adoptables forum, please bear in mind that you will still need to submit a new application for them. Old profiles will be kept solely for the purpose of continuity, for you to get an idea of personalities, histories, etc that have been used in-game before. Again, the application should be made in your own writing, and not a matter of copy and paste.
In Character
- Control your own characters only. Don't assume other character's actions.
- Be realistic. You might be a super-powered mutant, but that doesn't mean you can't get hurt.
- When it comes to death and dying, characters are not permitted to kill other player characters. If a situation arises where a character might die, alert an admin and we will step in to moderate accordingly. This does not mean that you won't die- no one is invincible, and bad things can happen.
- There is no limit to the number of threads you may be involved in at any one time. However, be realistic. Your character can't be spending some morning both in Xavier's School in Westchester, New York, and in far east Asia at the same time. Time journals are available to help keep track of what your characters are doing, and when.
Posting
- Intermediate to advanced role-playing ability is expected. Sometimes one-liners are all that is needed, but players who continuously post at a level of quality not on par with the site will be asked to surrender their characters.
- We do not have a word count. The focus is on quality of writing, not quantity.
Out of Character
- Treat your fellow players with respect. No harassment, trolling, or otherwise. If you believe you are being treated badly by another member of the community, please contact one of the staff.
- No drama! Keep IC and OoC separate. Even if your character is mean, that doesn't mean that you have to be. Likewise, don't treat a player like scum just because they play a villain, or someone your character doesn't like. We understand having fun, and being playful, but people have limits - be mindful of them.
Activity Requirements
- We expect an in character post once every 5-7 days. If you are unable to keep this up after a period of 3 weeks, your accounts will be deleted and your characters put up for adoption.
- For absences, please let us know when, and for how long you are going to be away. Following this period, activity requirements function as per normal.
Graphics
- Avatars can be up to 170x200 in size. Please make certain to resize images accordingly so they don't stretch the page.
- Signatures are allowed, but don't be stupid with them. They shouldn't be super huge in length- a good height to go for would probably be around the 200 pixels mark.
- Direct linking is a definite no-no. Direct linking to a picture from someone else's website steals from their bandwidth, and that's bad. Use hosting sites such as Photobucket and Imageshack instead.
